Episode 23- Marc Silverman

Marc A. Silverman, PhD brings over 30 years of experience consulting to Family Businesses. He specializes in working with complex family systems of over 25 family shareholders and particularly in integrating the needs of different generations into clear succession and governance structures. An early member of this relatively new field, Dr. Silverman is considered a pioneer in Family Business, particularly in Latin America.  He has been granted “Fellow” status by the Family Firm Institute. He has worked with dozens of families in various countries, including several well-known family dynasties and has facilitated several large complex families through two succession processes. Episode 22- Amy Scruggs

Amy Scruggs has provided public speaking coaching and on-camera training for corporate clients by providing team training seminars, as well as for business executives and entrepreneurs, who are looking to enhance their virtual or digital media skills. As a Motivational Speaker, Amy uses examples from her own life story to help empower and motivate others.  As a Media Executive, Amy is known as the “Voice and Face” of Mutual of Omaha Mortgage, where she writes, directs and hosts a national digital marketing campaign for a Fortune 500 company. She is the in-house Media Coach for senior company executives and top sales performers. She is also the host for the national TV show, "Financing the American Dream", on CNBC.  Her other hosting credits include the TV shows, The American Dream, Lifestyles San Diego, Veterans One and the Retiring Right Show.    Although Amy started in Country Music she is also known for her powerful vocals and piano playing. She continues to perform at private and corporate events, including recent openings for music legends Chubby Checker, Frankie Avalon and Tony Orlando.   Amy is also a published Author, her new book, "LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION", Media Coaching for Any Professional in Today's Digital World, was released in the fall of 2021.

Episode 21- Alvin Poh

Alvin Poh was born in Singapore. He came from a working-class family in Kovan, where his mother worked as a clinical assistant while his father worked multiple jobs. Poh has claimed that the lack of an allowance spurred him to find ways to have an income, and eventually was one of the reasons that led him to co-found the company with his school-mate. In 2002, Poh was 17 when he co-founded his first company, Vodien Studios, a web design firm that provided services such as graphic design, web design, web development, and web hosting services. Later, the company pivoted, restructuring and removing several business functions and services.  In July 2017, Poh sold the business to Dreamscape Networks (DN8:ASX), a company listed on the Australian Stock Exchange, most popularly known for operating the domain name registry, Crazy Domains. The deal was valued at SGD30 million, and allowed the combined entity to expand into Southeast Asia through Singapore. Today, Alvin is all about one thing, helping clients with " Super Scaling Your Business".

 

Episode 20- Linda Schlesinger-Wagner

After more than 30 years in the apparel industry, Michigan native Linda Schlesinger-Wagner, was  inspired to create a brand that filled a void she felt existed in the women's apparel industry. In 2009,  skinnytees (TM) started with a single one-size-fits-most silhouette, the seamless camisole. Schlesinger-Wagner didn't stop there and quickly rolled out a complete line of essential styles that helped redefine  the smooth wear industry. Through the years, skinnytees has grown, and is now firmly rooted in the  belief of offering a product for all women - all sizes, all colors, and all ages.  

Prior to the launch of skinnytees, Schlesinger-Wagner successfully ran several fashion brands, including  Rainbow Lollipop, a high-end children's boutique, Annie's Antics, a children's knitwear collection and  Annie M Designs, a women's knitwear line. Through her dedication, skinnytees were named to Corp.  Magazine's Economic Bright Spot Award in 2017, Inc. Magazine's 5000 Greatest Entrepreneurs of 2017,  MichBusiness's Retail Sensations of 2018, and has made numerous appearances on Good Morning  America's Deals & Steals. Schlesinger-Wagner is a graduate of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small  Businesses Program and the Edward Lowe Foundation.  

Schlesinger-Wagner is also a longtime advocate for women's and children's charities, actively working  with a multitude of nonprofits such as The Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, Super Saturday, and the  Make-a-Wish Foundation. She has served as a Co-Chair for Jewish Vocational Services: Women to Work  Program since 2017, when she was honored. She has been involved in the non-profit Pictures of Hope,  where she received the Salvation Army Angel Award. She has also been a board member of the Detroit  Garment Group since 2019, and is a 2021 Honoree of the Pillars of Birmingham. 

Episode 19- Aaron Shawn Harper

Shawn Harper is a former NFL offensive lineman who played a total of seven seasons with the Rams, the Oilers, the Colts, and NFL Europe. Since 2004 he has owned and operates American Services and Protection, a multi-million-dollar security services firm headquartered in Columbus, Ohio.  His journey from the grit and sweat of the NFL locker room to the corporate culture of the boardroom proved that he could win in both worlds by using many of the same principles and strategies!

Episode 18 -John Warrilow

Evan Seinfeld is an American musician, actor, director, photographer, writer and former pornographic actor.  He is best known as the former lead vocalist, bassist, and founding member of Biohazard.    He went on to star in the cult prison series OZ, and has now launched a platform called IsMyGirl where models and adult stars can produce and sell their own content.
